I am an experienced mental health professional with over 10 years service within the NHS. I offer a unique blend of skill using both occupational therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy principles.
I trained as an occupational therapist at Glasgow Caledonian university and began working in mental health once I left university. I began training in cognitive behavioural therapy in 2018 while working within a community mental health team.
I worked full time as a cognitive behavioural therapist within a community mental health team and now offer therapy privately.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
I have experience of working with people with a wide range of difficulties with mental health including: generalised anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, depression, eating disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder and phobias. The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommend CBT as the first line of treatments for the above conditions.
I also work with people who experience long term health conditions such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome.
You may not feel that you ‘fit’ into one of the above categories. Therapy can help improve over all health and well-being.
